The driver of a minivan suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash on Interstate 295 in Mandarin on Friday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers said the minivan rear-ended an F-150 pickup truck near the Old St. Augustine Road exit just before 4 p.m., and the minivan veered into the guardrail.

The driver, 41-year-old Matthew Thompson, was flown to UF Health Jacksonville.

No one in the pickup truck was hurt.
