PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Putnam County involving a dirt bike.

Michael Wilber, 57, was killed in a crash on Tuesday around 9 p.m. on State Road 20, just west of Kitty Lane according to FHP.

For unknown reasons, patrol officers said Wilber had his Suzuki dirt bike stopped in the westbound travel lane of State Road 20, west of Kitty Lane.

Timothy Buchner, 59, driving a Merc Villager SUV, was traveling west on State Road 20, when he collided with the dirt bike.

As a result, FHP said, the dirt bike traveled west and landed on its side. We do not know if Wilber was wearing a helmet.

Alcohol was not involved in the crash and charges are pending, according to FHP.
