AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash in Amelia Island.
The accident happened at 1:35 a.m. on Amelia Road, north of the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport.

Troopers say Donald Conrad Jason Menz, 26, was driving a 2005 Toyota Scion when he missed a curve and collided with a speed-limit sign. The front of his car hit a utility pole and then hit a tree.
Menz died at the scene.
