Putnam County Sheriff's Office booking photos of Michael Crum and Adam Hale from prior arrests

Deputies in Putnam County are looking for two men they said forced their way into a home Sunday and beat a 78-year-old man.

Investigators said Michael Crum, 18, and Adam Hale, 22, forcefully entered a home in the 100 block of Sherman Drive Circle and severely beat Phillip Henderson.

Henderson suffered from severe lacerations, abrasions and contusions on his face and arms.

Deputies said the suspects struck him repeatedly with a stick or pipe of some type, then took less than $20 in cash and the keys to his car, a 1997 Lincoln.

The suspects fled in the car, which was later recovered about three miles from the home, deputies said.

Both men currently have active felony warrants for attempted murder, home invasion robbery and grand theft of a motor vehicle. Their last known address is 169 Sherman Drive Circle.

Hale has prior arrests on charges of burglary, grand theft and dealing in stolen property in 2011, and domestic battery in 2012.

Sheriff Jeff Hardy is asking for help from the community in locating the suspects.

Anyone with any information regarding their whereabouts is asked to call Detective David Sanders at 386-329-0801 or Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS (8477).
