OCALA, Fla. -

A 32-year-old Ocala man was ready to turn himself in to authorities when he went to the Marion County Jail.

But authorities say Jackie Eugene Mayo got angry when he couldn't find his way inside the jail early Monday. So he started banging on doors as he staggered around the building.

Mayo was wanted on a warrant for violation of probation.

The Ocala Star-Banner reports Mayo eventually found his way to the jail's booking entrance, where a corrections officer tried to talk to him. But an arrest report says Mayo was screaming and yelling, and he smelled of alcohol.

A deputy arrested Mayo, who continued yelling.

According to the report, Mayo tried to pull away from officers. He's being held without bail and now faces battery charges.
