COCOA, Fla. -

A 25-year-old man is being held without bond, accused in the shooting of a 12-year-old boy who was shot while riding his bicycle in Cocoa.

The shooting happened Thursday afternoon and Brevard County Sheriff's deputies arrested Dontarius Jones later in the day. He's facing multiple charges, including aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated child abuse.

Deputies say the child was targeted in the shooting but didn't offer additional details.

The child was reported to be in stable condition.

Jones is being held in the Brevard County Jail. Records don't indicate whether he has an attorney.
