YULEE, Fla. -

One man has been arrested and Nassau County deputies continue searching for a second man and a woman they say illegally searched a man's vehicle while posing as law enforcement narcotics officers.

According to deputies, the trio performed the illegal search in the early morning hours of May 11 at Peter's Point beach access on Amelia Island.

During the search the posers stole the victim's handgun and left the scene in a silver or white Honda Civic with Georgia tags, deputies said.

One of the men deputies were searching for in connection with the impersonation, Gregory Travis Shields, 32, was arrested on Friday on an outstanding warrant.

Officials said the woman is described as having blonde or light brown hair and is possibly in her 20s.

The man deputies continue searching for is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s with a shaved head and tattoos.

Shields is waiting to be transferred to Nassau County where he will be booked into Nassau County Detention Facility.

Anyone with any information on the other man or woman involved in the impersonation is asked to contact the Nassau County Sheriff's Office at 904-548-4078.
