A 40-year-old St. Johns County woman was arrested Tuesday night on a charge of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Orrianne Jewell was booked into the St. Johns County jail on $1,500 bond.

Detectives said their investigation began last week when they received a tip about someone soliciting to purchase a controlled substance on an eCommerce site.

Detectives said they began to text message the person, identified as Jewell, who was seeking Lortabs to purchase. Detectives said they continued to text message Jewell Tuesday because she was still interested in a purchase.

They said a price was negotiated, as was a meeting place.

Detectives met with Jewell at 7 p.m. at an undisclosed location in St. Johns County. They said following the transaction, Jewell was taken into custody without incident.
