West is charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Vessely said that he was walking through the parking lot of the courthouse when he spotted West injecting something in her arm. He said she did not notice him standing at her car window in his uniform, but finally looked up and immediately threw the syringe onto the floor.

During the encounter, Vessely discovered that West had a total of four controlled medications in her possession without a valid prescription. He also found a small bag of marijuana and a second syringe in her purse, deputies said.

West was arrested without incident and booked into the Putnam County Jail. She was released after posting $5,024 bond.
