BAKER COUNTY, Fla. -

Baker County Sheriff's Office deputy Jerimiah Combs was presented with a life-saver award on Thursday by Sheriff Joey Dobson.

The award recognized Combs' efforts on May 22 that helped save the life of 46-year-old Allen T. Ploucher.

Ploucher went into cardiac arrest at his home, and Combs was the first to the scene. He started CPR until paramedics arrived.

Ploucher was transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center, where doctors said without the immediate CPR, Ploucher would not have survived.

Ploucher attended the award ceremony Thursday to thank Combs for his life-saving actions.
