Jacksonville Bank robbed
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The downtown the branch of Jacksonville Bank was robbed late Friday morning, and the man suspected of pulling off the heist was caught less than two blocks away.

The streets around the bank at 100 North Laura Street where blocked for a time while the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office processed both the scene of the robbery and the Dodge pickup truck police stopped on Laura between Adams and Monroe streets.

Police have not named the man stopped, but said the robber demanded cash and left with money, left the bank and headed north on Laura in the pickup.

"We had a lot of officers downtown right now and we were able to get the vehicle stopped quickly," said Lt. Brian Richardson.

No one was injured in the robbery.

This article will be updated when the man's name, charges and other details are released.
