Car in retention pond
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Two people were able to safely escape their car after landing in a retention pond off JTB and I-295 late Thursday night.

Tien Nguyen, 20, was driving a car on the exit ramp from JTB to I-295 south just before 9:30 p.m.  Nguyen lost control, causing it to leave the roadway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol report.

After the car left the road, it went into a retention pond.

The car became submerged.  Nguyen and his passenger, Kevin Nguyen, 20, were able to escape without any injuries.
