ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -

A 45-year-old construction worker had his legs run over by a dump truck at a construction site in St. Johns County on Tuesday afternoon, according to deputies.

Deputies said Sanford Robinson, a Jacksonville resident and employee of Vallencourt Construction, was directing a loaded dump truck to the dump site in the 2500 block of St. Johns Parkway, just south of Long Leaf Pines, at 1:30 p.m.

The truck was driven by Husein Hrustic, 56, of Jacksonville. Hrustic is the owner of Hrustic Brothers.

Deputies said while the dump truck was backing up, Robinson got too close to it and fell to the ground. Deputies said the passenger side rear tires ran over both of Robinson's legs below the knee.

Robinson was taken to Baptist Medical Center South with non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said the investigation is ongoing.
