Michael Dunn appears at pretrial hearing ahead of his second trial.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Michael Dunn, the man accused of murdering 17-year-old Jordan Davis in a dispute over loud music, was back in court Monday morning.

At a pretrial hearing, the judge set July 28 as the deadline for motions.

Dunn is awaiting his second trial in the case. It's scheduled to start in September.

Dunn says he shot into an SUV full of teenagers in November 2012, claiming self-defense.

He was convicted in February of three counts of attempted second-degree murder. A mistrial was declared on the murder charge because the jury couldn't reach a verdict.
