It costs $240,000 to raise a child in the United States. A new study says the ideal number of kids is two. There are 82 million mothers in the U.S. and 71 percent of those mothers have full-time jobs.

Many of us know how costly and time consuming raising kids can be. Now one working mom is helping others discover quick, easy and helpful tips in just a few computer clicks or taps on a smart phone.

Demika Caldwell is a busy working mom. She says taking care of a 5 and 10-year-old never left her much time to find helpful information until she discovered an app and web site called 30Second Mom.

“I love to cook and my daughters we bake all the time so I like to go on there and find different healthier options on there,” Caldwell said.

The app is made especially for busy moms like Caldwell.

Elisa All, another hard working mom, created the site.

“30Second Mom is a custom platform that we developed so that we can deliver great snackable content to moms,” All said. “They can read a tip or watch it on video in 30 seconds or less.”

Moms say it has definitely made their lives easier.

“It’s definitely helped me find different activities healthier items for my kids, they'll put out recalls, things like that so it's definitely helped my life a great deal,” Caldwell said.

Moms can get tips in fourteen different categories, ranging from parenting to cooking to finances. They can read or watch video on the subject in the same amount of time it takes to watch a TV ad.

“I thought this is it, this our opportunity to reach busy people while we have their captive attention in short little periods of time," All explained.

All the information comes from experienced moms like Caldwell, who has become one of a 110 contributors hoping to help make other moms’ lives a little easier.

The top three categories of 30Second Mom are kids, health, and food. The web site and app caters to moms starting from when they are pregnant. The majority of users are those who have kids ages toddler to pre-teen. Check it out at www.30SecondMom.com.
