CUTHBERT, Ga. -

A former Georgia state trooper was sentenced for selling drugs he stole from the department's evidence collection.

WALB-TV reported Tuesday that Jaa Tucker of Early County pleaded no contest to two counts of violating his oath of office. Authorities have said Tucker stole marijuana that had been seized as evidence and became the target of an investigation about two years ago.

Tucker was sentenced to two consecutive five-year probation terms and a $1,000 fine. He's also been ordered to surrender his Peace Officers Standards and Training certificate.
