JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A family is displaced after a fire broke out in their apartment Thursday night.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department told Channel 4 that fire broke out in an apartment's kitchen at 7147 Old Kings Road South.

JFRD told Channel 4 that the fire was contained to the kitchen of the apartment, but three other unoccupied apartments in the building suffered smoke damage from the fire.

The family that lives in the apartment was not home at the time of the fire.

The scene commander for the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department told Channel 4 the building suffered about $50,000 worth of damage.

Crews were able to put the fire out quickly.

No one was injured.
