Family Dollar burglar with machete sought

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying the man who burglarized the Family Dollar located at 3544 Beach Blvd. on Tuesday.

The man had a large machete, which he used to break the glass out of the front door to gain entry, according to police.

The man tried to pry open the cigarette case but was unsuccessful. The suspect stole cigarette lighters, underwear, T-shirts and cash.

Police describe the burglar as a white man wearing an Army green long-sleeve shirt, Army green pants, a Los Angeles Dodgers blue baseball cap and white latex gloves. He appeared to have a goatee and was armed with a large machete.
