Family, friends call for justice in 22-year-old's death

No arrest made yet in murder of Amber Bass

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Family, friends and complete strangers came together to remember a young woman who was shot and killed two weeks ago.

No arrest has been made in the murder of 22-year-old Amber Bass.

A group marched through Bass' neighborhood Friday night in her honor, bringing awareness to the community to help find justice for Bass.

"I just miss her so much, it really hasn't hit me at all," said Bass' sister, Robin Lescanzo. "I haven't had my time grieve and seeing all these people take the time out of their day to come out and support it's just overwhelming."

The pain is overwhelming for Lescanzo. Bass was gunned down in the street at the home they shared together.

"People are out all the time and no one saw or heard anything? It makes me very afraid to come home at night," said Lescanzo. "It makes me afraid right now, I feel like I'm being watched, like they are looking out for their next victim."

"Face what you did," said Bass' brother-in-law, Manuel Lescanzo. "You did it wrong and you need to pay for what you did."

Bass' family is hoping for answers and still holding out hope for answers.

"It's just very unfair that this happened, I want to find out who did it, and I want to know why," said Lescanzo.

Police are still looking for a light colored sedan, which they said is connected to the crime. Anyone with information is being asked to call Crime Stoppers 1-866-845-TIPS.
