VIDEO: A cab driver and father of four is shot to death and robbed as he sat in his cab on the northside and now the family wants answers.

The family of a taxi driver that was murdered is sharing their grief in hopes of finding the person responsible.

Stuart Carson, 43, was sitting inside his Gator City Taxi cab on West 27th Street on Jacksonville's north side when he was shot and killed early Saturday morning.

Police said they have few clues in the case.

Carson's family hopes someone will give police the break they need.

Stuart Carson's wife, Kelly Redington, said he was a very hard worker, but above all, he was a family man and adored his four children, who range in age from 5 to 22.

"I just really miss my dad," said Kayla Carson of her father. "I can't believe they did that to him. I really loved him."

Police haven't revealed a motive, but Stuart Caron's wife told Channel 4 that he was robbed just before he was killed. She described her husband as a man who worked hard to provide for his family, but at the end of the day, she said he always put his children's needs first.

"He worked very hard, he worked a lot of nights, but he always made sure he came home for family dinner," Redington said. "Sometimes he'd even come back just to kiss them goodnight and then he'd go back to work."

Redington said her husband worked for the cab company for about a year. She said there were several times when she feared for his safety.

"He knew it was hard. Some days were really good, some days were really bad," Redington said. "He was ready for a new job but he was just trying to do anything he could so we could have our bills paid and we'd be happy."

As the family works through their grief, they also lean on one another for support. They said they're praying for answers.

"No other family should ever have to go through this again, ever," said Gilkinson, Stuart Carson's sister. "These children should not have to suffer like this, with the loss of their father. It's not right and it's not fair."

Carson's family said they're now in the process of trying to pay for funeral expenses. They said he didn't have life insurance.
