JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Two people were killed in a crash Thursday night involving a motorcycle and a van at Normandy Boulevard and Cassat Avenue.

Florida Highway Patrol confirmed that the two people riding the motorcycle were killed. The FHP released the names of the two people killed Friday morning.  Jason Sanders, 31 and Ashley Goetzinger, 29 were killed late Thursday night when their motorcycle hit the van driven by James Alligood, 50.  Troopers said Sanders and Goetzinger were not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

"I was coming up to get some gas and walked up on it. It's sad. On both ends," Mark Dennison said. "The man driving and obviously the people on the motorcycle."

As of 4:30 Friday  morning, FHP says that all lanes are back open. Some who live in the area say that the road is dangerous.

"Especially at this intersection. If you stood at this intersection you see all kinds of crazy stuff going on daily. Awful intersection," Tommi Clemens said.

The driver of the van, Alligood, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
