JSO: Fatal wreck on Lem Turner Road

A tragic start to the Labor Day weekend after a deadly wreck last night.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash that happened about 10:35 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Lem Turner Road and Lake Forest Boulevard.

Investigators said a white car going north on Lem Turner was attempting to make a left turn on Lake Forest in front of an southbound SUV.

Police said 43-year-old Sheldon McCullough, the front passenger in the white car, was transported to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries. UF Health personnel later reported that he died. McCullough's birthday would have been Monday.

The driver of the white car and the driver of the SUV were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

JSO's Traffic Homicide is investigating the crash.

There is no word right now if any charges will be filed.
