NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A 35-year-old Nassau County man was found guilty Wednesday of aggravated manslaughter of a child for his involvement in the death of his 9-month-old son.
In May 2012, Robert Jerrell was at home with the baby and a 2-year-old child. During that time, Jerrell placed both children into a bathtub filled with water.

After a period of time, Jerrell removed the 2-year-old but left the 9-month-old in the tub unsupervised, long enough that the baby drowned.
Prosecutors said Jerrell also neglected to contact authorities immediately upon finding the baby.
Jerrell is classified as a habitual felony offender and now faces up to life in prison. He will be sentenced on Jan. 16.
