"He's going to be missed. He was taken from us way too early," said Siegrist

Siegrist's 34-year-old son died Saturday morning when he was robbed and shot while sitting with a friend at a Westside bus stop. Siegrist said he is going to miss the best friend type of relationship he had with his son, Mike.

"My son and I were very close. We did all kinds of things together. We hung out together. He lived with me. We were more like best friends than father and son in our relationship and I am truly going to miss him," Siegrist said.

No arrests have been made in Mike's death, which makes this even harder for Siegrist. Police's said that the suspect is believed to be a tall, thin, black man. He has a short hair cut and was last seen wearing a white t-shirt.

Siegrist is asking anyone in the community with information that could help lead police to an arrest to please come forward.

"Anybody who knows anything, please come forward and help bring my son's murderer to justice. We need to take back our community. My son was a good boy, hard-working, honest. He cared for his family, he cared for his friends. Anybody that knew him always said he had a smile on his face.

Siegrist said he is doing the best he can, trying to stay busy and keep occupied.

Anyone with any information on this crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
