JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation is proposing modifications to the Interstate 10 and 95 interchange area that the department says should improve traffic flow.
FDOT is holding an informal "open house" at Riverside Park United Methodist Church on Park Street from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, followed by a presentation at 6:30 p.m. and public comments.

FDOT's study focuses on the area along I-10 from McDuff Avenue to the I-95 interchange, and along I-95 from I-10 to Kings Avenue.
About 250,000 vehicles travel through this interchange area each day, and that is projected to increase to 290,000 a day by 2040, according to FDOT.
FDOT said the morning and afternoon peak traffic times exceed the interchange's capacity to handle the traffic, causing congestion and delays.
The improvements are estimated at $70 million and funding is available to start construction in 2016, FDOT said.
