FHP ask for help finding hit-and-run driver

Pedestrian struck July 11 in construction zone on I-95 north of Baymeadows Road

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for help finding a a pickup truck that struck a pedestrian on Interstate 95 just north of Baymeadows Road the night of July 11.

According to the troopers, a person was in a construction zone about a half-mile north of the Baymeadows interchange at 11:30 p.m. on July 11 when stuck by a dark-colored pickup, possibly a 2001 to 2005 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra.

The pedestrian sustained severe injuries.  The pickup likely sustained damage to the right side that would be missing its pedestrian side-view mirror.

The FHP says its possible the driver through they struck a construction barrier and may be unaware they struck a person.
