JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are still searching for three people who ran from a pair of crashes on Beach Boulevard on Monday night that injured two teenagers and an adult.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office say this all unfolded near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Huffman Boulevard, just west of Kernan Boulevard, at about 5:30 p.m.
According to the police report, the driver of a Monte Carlo pulled a gun on the driver of another car, but Richardson doesn't remember any of that. He said he blacked out after the crash that left him with head and leg injuries.
Martivaius Richardson, 15, who was in the back seat of the Monte Carlo, does remember a fight between the driver of the two cars.
He said he was with four others in a white Monte Carlo on Beach Boulevard near Interstate 295 and remembers that they got into a fight with the driver of another car.
"We tried to turn to come in here, and they would not let us over and we had cut in front of them," Richardson said. "They had speeded up and we went to the other lane, close to the sidewalk, and they tried to run us off the sidewalk. He ran off the sidewalk. He turned and ran off the sidewalk because everyone was screaming his name. He turned back and turned into the main and all I saw was two cars coming towards us."
Witnesses told police the second car -- was going east on Beach Boulevard when the Monte Carlo pulled up on the right side of the other car and words were exchanged between the two . Officers were told the Monte Carlo sped forward in front of the car and lost control, crossed the median into on coming traffic and hit two other vehicles.
The driver and two others in the Monte Carlo then ran from the scene. Two juveniles 12 and 15 years old were injured and stayed with the car. The driver of a Jeep Compass -- one of the other two hit by the Monte Carlo -- suffered minor injuries, was treated and released.
Richardson, the older teen (pictured), was one of those hurt, but he does not know much about the driver he was with.
"It was like, they know him from somewhere," Richardson said. "We were coming from Winn Dixie and driving down to go to Burger King and they would not let us get over."
The report states that several police dogs and a helicopter were dispatched in the area, in search of the individuals who fled the scene, but were unable to find the suspects.
