FHP: Trooper in crash distracted by computer

FORT MYERS, Fla. -

An investigation concluded that a Florida Highway Patrol trooper was distracted by in in-car laptop when he struck another vehicle, injuring a pregnant woman whose unborn child died.

The Fort Myers News-Press reports a 68-page report released by FHP on Tuesday states that no criminal charges will be filed against Trooper Gustavo Reyes.  He was issued a citation for careless driving.
    
Crystal McClure was severely injured in the Feb. 5 crash. Her husband and a 1-year-old were not injured.
    
Lawyer Liz Kagan says the McClures still have more questions about the accident.
    
Reyes remains on desk duty. He's part of an investigation to see if he violated FHP policies.
    
Reports show Reyes accessed his computer at 9:13 p.m. on Feb. 5. The crash less than two minutes later.
