Fire damages Video Empire on Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

A fire burned Video Empire, a video rental store on the Westside, early Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out shortly before midnight at the store located on Blanding Blvd. just south of 103rd St. according to Jacksonville Fire and Rescue. It was extinguished by 12:30 a.m.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office closed all lanes of 103rd St. at Blanding Blvd. while crews were at the scene. Lanes reopened around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

According to JFRD, Video Empire had been closed for several months.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.  

The State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate.
