Firefighters extinguish apartment fire in Cedar River

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue department responded to a fire at an apartment building in the Cedar River area just before 8 p.m. Friday night.

Firefighters arrived on Confederate Point Road and saw heavy smoke and flames in the rear area of the two-story apartment.

JFRD said no one was injured in the fire and that crews were able to get it under control quickly.

No word on the extent of the damage to the building.
