Firefighters investigate cause of fire in Sawgrass home

St. Johns County Fire Rescue is investigating what caused a home to catch fire in the Sawgrass area Tuesday morning.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue responded to a reported residential structure fire on Pebble Creek Lane near 7 Mile Drive around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, firefighters found a home with light smoke showing and all occupants evacuated.

Firefighters began a search of the home and quickly located a small fire in the attic.

Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish it quickly limiting damage to the structure.

There were no injuries reported during this incident and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by SJCFR.
