Authorities took custody of the child Wednesday after a school official raised concerns.  Detectives obtained additional information from other law enforcement agencies, courts in Missouri and other states, which allegedly gave probable cause to support the allegation that the boy was abducted in Florida in 2000 when he was an infant.

WDAF-TV reported that Hatte is the child's grandmother and took the boy one day while the father was at work.  Authorities say the father keep looking for his son, but every time he got close, Hatte would take off for a new place.

Hatte and the child had only lived in Livingston County for about a month.

The biological father traveled to Chillicothe this week to be reunited with his son.

"It was a good reunion," Detective Eric Menconi  said. "You could tell within the first three minutes they hit it off pretty well. Since then I've been on the phone with the dad and from what I'm understanding it's going very well. He's adjusting."
