FORT POLK, La. -

Officials say a 20-year-old Fleming Island soldier was killed Thursday during a training accident at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

Tyler Zody reportedly died as a result of an accident that involved one vehicle and left three others injured.

"Tyler was a dedicated and talented young NCO," said Lt. Col. Marc Cloutier, commander of the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment. "The Leader Battalion family will miss him dearly."

Zody, who was scheduled for a fall deployment to Afghanistan, enlisted in the U.S. Army in July 2011.

The 20-year-old's body is expected to be returned home to his family sometime this week.
