Florida school principal charged with molestation
A Tampa Day School principal was arrested after deputies said he admitted in a phone call to inappropriately touching a 14-year-old male student he had befriended.
Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies arrested 63-year-old James Jerome Larkin on Thursday. The middle school principal at Tampa Day School was charged with lewd or lascivious molestation on a child 12 or older.
Deputies say Larkin befriended the student, whose father had died. A report said Larkin babysat the boy and his siblings while the student's mother was out of town March 7 and that's when Larkin allegedly touched the boy inappropriately.
He was released from jail Friday on a $7,500 bond. It's unclear if he has retained an attorney.
