VIDEO: The Jacksonville Sharks indoor football team is holding a free preseason scrimmage to benefit First Coast No More Homeless Pets. Jeff Bouchy, managing partner of the Jacksonville Sharks, and Meredith Tekin, marketing and event coordinator for First Coast No More Homeless Pets, talk about the event and how they hope to collect food for pets in need.

Jacksonville, Fla. -

You can head out to see the Jacksonville Sharks take on the Tampa Bay Storm for a free scrimmage Sun., March 2nd.

The game will start at 4 p.m. at the Sea Best Field, at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.

When you head out to the game, the Sharks are asking you to bring a donation of pet food for First Coast No More Homeless Pets.  First Coast No More Homeless Pets does anything to help keep pets in their home.

If a family is struggling getting food, organizers First Coast No More Homeless Pets do not want someone to have to take their pet to a shelter.

"Since we started our programs about 12 years ago, we have reduced the euthanasia in the city shelter by 90-percent..." said Meredith Tiken with First Coast No More Homeless Pets.

Providing food helps people keep their pets and reduces the euthanasia rate.

Cash donations will also be accepted at the game.
