Freedom Festival to take place at Orange Park Mall

Festival held on Sat. June 28th from 4-9 p.m.

As Americans mark another Independence Day, Slate celebrates by mining YouTube for amateur fireworks displays gone awry.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – People are invited to celebrate July 4th at Orange Park Mall during the Freedom Festival, which is the mall's annual Fourth of July celebration.  It will take place Saturday, June 28 from 4 - 9 p.m. in the JCPenney parking lot.

That is according to a press release sent to News4Jax.

The celebration is free and open to the public and will honor the men and women who serve in our nation's armed services.  The event will particularly focus on those based out of NAS Jacksonville, NS Mayport and Camp Blanding, with an evening full of activities.

"With such great success at last year's event, Orange Park Mall is excited to once again offer Clay County and Westside-area residents and visitors a free, family-friendly patriotic celebration," said Gi Teevan, director of marketing and business development for Orange Park Mall. "Freedom Festival is a tradition that we're proud to continue hosting for the community and area families, in order to commemorate those who deserve it most."
