JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Family and friends gathered Monday to keep the memory of 22-year-old Amber Bass alive, and to continue to ask the community for help finding her killer.
"Our lives are just wrecked, it's just horrible, just horrible," said Barbara Bass.
Bass is talking about life since her 22-year-old daughter was killed in her Westside neighborhood driveway one month ago.
"It's been one long day, just one long day, and it literally just feels like my heart's ripped out of my chest, it's just awful," said Bass.
Amber Bass' family still doesn't know who shot and killed their daughter last month. The family stood on their street once again Monday night with signs for supporters to honk, hoping for answers.
"All of the fathers need to stand up for their daughters and help find this killer. Help bring him to justice, our daughters don't deserve this," said family friend, Pete Singer.
"Come clean and tell us what you did, or tell us who did this because there are a lot of people suffering right now, missing her," said Susan Singer.
Pete and Susan Singer told Channel 4 Monday night that Amber was like a daughter to them. Bass dated the Singer's son and even after their relationship ended, they were best of friends.
"I wake up and I know there's something and then I remember, it's not a dream, it's what happened and it's really hard to deal with," said Susan Singer.
"I can't imagine going without her, I just have these wonderful memories of her, that's all that keeps me going," said Barbara Bass.
