Gastrointestinal illness outbreak investigated at Orlando hotel
The Orange County Department of Health tells Local 6 it is investigating a gastrointestinal illness outbreak during a conference at a local Marriott hotel.
Investigators say several dozen hotel guests got sick while staying at the Orlando World Center Marriott. The guests who developed severe symptoms stayed at the hotel from June 29 to July 7.
Symptoms included nausea, vomiting and diarrhea and lasted up to two days.
Most of the guests affected were adults. However, some children exhibited symptoms as well, according to the Department of Health.
One person had to be taken to the emergency room for treatment.
All guests who became sick have gone home.
