ORANGE PARK, Fla. – A company that develops and supplies railroad signaling equipment is moving its regional headquarters to Orange Park, officials announced Wednesday morning.
R.J. Corman Railroad Signaling will invest $100,000 in capital improvements and hire 58 engineers with an average wage of $62,500.

The average wage in Clay County is $31,207.
Gov. Rick Scott, Florida Secretary of Commerce Gray Swoope, state Sen. John Trasher, state Rep. Travis Cummings and Clay County officials made the announcement at the Thrasher Home Conference Center in Orange Park.
The company was given a incentive package of $5,000 per job under the state's Qualified Target Industry incentive program, said Bill Garrison, director of Clay County's Economic Development Council.
R.J. Corman has committed to creating the jobs within three years for a total of $290,000 in tax breaks once the jobs are created. Clay County is responsible for 20 percent and the state 80 percent.
Corman's Clay County office will develop railroad signal system design, wiring, construction, maintenance, packaging and material warehousing and logistics, a news release from the governor's office said.
The company also considered Georgia and Kentucky during their search process, but said they chose Clay County because of the quality of the engineering talent pipeline and low training costs in the area.
"We wanted close access to Florida engineering schools which we consider significant," said Craig King, pesident of R.J. Corman Railroad Group. "We wanted to attract employees to life in the Sunshine State. We're excited to grow our operations right here."
