Holiday flying with food goods

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Before heading to the airport with a favorite Thanksgiving food dish, here are a few things to keep in mind before going through security with the green bean casserole.

Solid Food Items:
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) does allow solid food items to be transported in your carry-on bag. Also, desert items like cakes and pies are permitted, but could require additional screening.

Liquids, Gels:
Liquid or gel food items that are greater than 3.4 ounces should be placed in your checked luggage. Anything less than 3.4 ounces CAN be placed in a carry-on bag.

Purchases After Security:
These items have already been screened and can be brought on-board, no questions asked.
