OCALA, Fla. -

An Ocala man was arrested Monday afternoon on allegations of physically attacking a mailman and damaging a mail-delivery vehicle.

Aaron Smith angrily approached the mailman because he did not receive any mail, according to police. Smith yelled at the mailman and attacked the mailman through the driver's window by shoving his arm multiple times.

Smith then walked away, grabbed a broken stool and threw it at the vehicle, causing $300 worth of damage, according to the police department.

A neighbor, who was sitting on her porch at the time, witnessed the entire incident.

Smith was arrested and brought to the Marion County Jail. A postal service supervisor told police federal charges will be filed in addition to state charges, according to the Police Department.
