JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 38-year-old Jacksonville man was sentenced to five years in prison recently in connection with a nationwide warrant scam.
Toney Calhoun was convicted of conspiracy to engage in a pattern of racketeering activity, false impersonation of a law enforcement officer, schemes to defraud and possession of cocaine.

Calhoun ran a business called TAC & Associates, which was based in Jacksonville. Calhoun and two co-defendants called victims nationwide, posing as detectives and convincing victims they had warrants out for their arrest. Calhoun then demanded money from the victims in order to keep them from being arrested.
Co-defendants Kristen Benton and Bianca Wilson are both charged with one count of schemes to defraud. Their cases are currently pending.
