Jacksonville Sheriff Officer's cruiser hit by jeep

JSO cruiser hit by jeep on Wilson Blvd. 

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigated a crash involving an officer on the Westside Friday night.

The accident  happened as the officer was getting off I-295 at Wilson Boulevard Friday after 6 p.m.

Witnesses said the officer had a green light and was headed east, when a driver in a Jeep ran a red light and slammed into the police officer's cruiser. 

The female officer, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The driver of the Jeep was not taken to the hospital.
