JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department extinguished a fire to a home on the Westside Tuesday morning.

According to JFRD, the house fire was reported just after 5 a.m. Tuesday, when a passerby saw smoke coming from a home on Thompson Street and Dignan Street.

JFRD said the fire started in one of the bedrooms and firefighters were able to contain the fire and keep it from spreading to the rest of the home.

No one was home during the fire.

The home sustained smoke damage and JFRD is investigating the cause of the fire.
