We are following breaking news this morning where a police are investigating a suspicious package on the Westside.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Investigators say someone threw a bottle with some sort of substance inside of it into a home on Cardinal Boulevard just before 5 a.m. Saturday.

Streets in the area off Blanding Boulevard and Cassat Avenue were shut down as the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigated.

Police say no one was injured when the bottle was thrown inside of the home.  They also say they are not sure what was in the bottle.

They say they are unsure if the person who threw the bottle was on foot or in a car.

The JSO Bomb Squad and the Jacksonville Fire Marshal's Office were called to the scene to assist with the investigation.  Authorities say they believe the contents of the bottle were safe.  No one was evacuated from their home.

Authorities say they will continue to investigate.
