JSO: Young man's body found in ditch

Police suspect foul play in the death of a man found in a Northside ditch this evening.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

Police are investigating after a man's body was found in a Northwest Jacksonville ditch on Saturday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Detectives were called to Roanoke Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. after a 14-year-old was walking the ditch line near Rutledge Pearson Elementary School  and found the body of 18-year-old Adrian Watkins Jr. of Jacksonville.

The child went home and told his family, who called police.

Homicide detectives said they are investigating as if foul play was involved.

Police were interviewing witnesses Saturday night to try and determine what happened.
