No one injured in incident after man fires 2 shots at ex-girlfriend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a man fired two shots during a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend on Monday in Brentwood.

She had her 1-year-old child in the car with her at the time, police said.

The incident happened about 10:30 a.m. near West 25th Street and North Pearl Street, a few blocks east of Brentwood Park.

Police said the woman saw an ex-boyfriend trying to wave her down on Main Street at 21st Street. She drove off, trying to avoid him, and he followed her in his car.

When the woman got to the 200 block of West 25th Street, she stopped and the ex-boyfriend pulled in front of her and got out with a pistol, shooting into the air and then at her, police said.

Police said the woman drove off and managed to elude him. No one was injured, but two parked cars were hit by bullets.

Detectives are investigating the incident, police said.
