JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is trying to find the person responsible for shooting a man Wednesday night several times at a northwest Jacksonville apartment complex.

Officers were dispatched to Almeda Street Holdings Apartments around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night after gunshots were reported in the area, according to JSO.

A little after 10:00 p.m., a man arrived at UF Health Hospital for treatment to multiple gunshot wounds.

He told police that he was in the parking lot behind Almeda Street Holdings Apartments standing next to his truck when a black man jumped out of the bushes and began to shoot at him, according to JSO.
