K-9 tracks down armed robbery suspect in St Johns County

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – A robbery suspect was arrested after a K-9 unit tracked him down in a wooded area of St. Augustine, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

 Deputies said they responded to Marriotti's Cleaners on A1A and State Road 312 around 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

The clerk told deputies a man snatched a bag of money from her hands.

Deputies said they later determined Aaron Jones, 19, was armed with a gun.

Deputies including a K-9 unit named Ryker searched a wooded area nearby where Ryker tracked Jones and apprehended him.

Jones was booked into the St Johns County Jail and was expected to face a judge Sunday morning.
