Kennedy Space Center extends tourists' missions hours
Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral is giving tourists a longer reason to stay. The space center's visitor complex is extending the hours of the tourist missions.
According to the Kennedy Space Center website, visitors will now get to stay to extra hours to enjoy shows, exhibits and a shuttle launch experience.
According to center officials the original time of closing was at 5 p.m.. Now the complex is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m..
The extended times last through the month of August.
Visitors also have the chance to meet veteran astronauts and view the space Shuttle Atlantis.
According to the Kennedy Space Center, the final mission of shuttle Atlantis was July of 2011. The site reports the shuttle traveled more than 125 million miles in space.
